The object is realized in a sophisticated baroque form which inserts the refined decoration in a structure of connection and distribution of parts. This structure is given by the three elements that take place with continuity from the base up to the bowl. The base is decorated with reliefs of cherubs and bunches of grapes and the bored knot, made with scrolls ending with winged little heads, soars on it. The full-relief figures of the Risen Christ, the Virgin and a Saint with a goblet are embedded in the empty spaces. There are scrolls still in the cup and between them, in relief, ears of wheat and grapes are depicted. |
